MIRIAM N BROW FAQ's
WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Permanent makeup is a form of micro pigmentation in which the technician uses a tattoo machine to implant ink into the skin to mimic realistic hair strokes and shading. While permanent makeup is a permanent service, results typically last 1-3 years depending on skin type and aftercare compliance. Most client will need a 6-8 week perfecting session (touch up), and a 1.5-2.5 year touch up.
The healing process will take a complete 4-6 weeks. Minor swelling and irritation is normal, and the brows will appear darker than normal for 2-5 days. It is normal for the color to flake off and appear softer and less visible during the healing process, but the pigment will reappear in the following days. The perfecting session can not take place any sooner than 6 weeks to prevent scar tissue.
Proper aftercare will save your pigment from fading. Typically, permanent makeup will last 1-3 years. This however will be affected by the use of harsh topical skin care around the brow and forehead area, unprotected UV exposure, and improper aftercare.
No, brows that have turned blue over time are a result of cheap inks, insufficient color theory and skin tone knowledge and the technician inserting the pigment too deeply in to the skin. Miriam works with the leading skin pigments that will not change or turn blue over time. In addition her skin knowledge from 15 years as a makeup artist means the correct tone for your skin is always top of mind.
Before your appointment, please be sure to avoid blood thinners, alcohol, ibuprofen, and any other pain relievers 24-48 hours before your appointment unless prescribed by your physician. Caffeine the day of the procedure may increase discomfort levels and blood flow.
Intense sweating and exercising before the brows are done flaking will result in poor healed results. Retin A/tretinoin/bakuchiol and fish oils must be stopped at least 10 days prior to the service. Botox administered within two weeks before the appointment will result in a reschedule. It is not advised to have your brows done before a vacation.
While everyone's pain tolerance varies, clients are numbed with topical numbing
cream before and throughout the service.
Each client is provided an in-depth brow mapping and analysis. Miriam works with you to outline the perfect shape of brow that compliments both your facial structure and your personal style. All worked in tweaked and perfected by pencil before and tattooing is done.
Receiving a permanent cosmetic procedure should be considered carefully and thoughtfully. Ink being placed under the skin is almost always permanent. There are a few different ways to lighten and lessen the pigment, however the results are never guaranteed and can be very damaging to the skin. Working with an experienced artist is very important to insure there is no need for reversal.
